Exhilarating.

My love for the mountains started with Mt. Batulao four years ago. From then, I had climbed a few mountains and it had always brought me more urge to climb more mountains. Others find it weird that some people choose this hobby that get them tired, dirty, wet, at times, injured and wounded. Reaching the summit brings a great amount of joy and satisfaction. Every time I look back to my climbing experiences, it's really not the reaching the summit that's makes me excited-- it was how I got to reach the summit, surpassing all the obstacles, the steep path, the slippery, sandy sometimes muddy path, how I had found ways, the strength to stand against the strong winds, the grip in holding onto that rope as the only hope to get to the other side.-- --- truly, it's the climb :)

Mt. Batulao, 2/23/2014.

If I can conquer a mountain, I feel like I can also conquer this adventure called life.

  4. I am generally lazy pero game din ako sa ganyan. I think we should be more often visiting forests and climbing mountains now. With all the abuses people do with the environment, landslides and all other environmental sh*t, you never know baka bukas wala nang gubat o bundok di ba? Hehehe... overthinking lang ako.

Nice photo din. Parang nakaka-relax ng nerves kapag nandiyan. Why drown yourself with alcohol or food to escape from stress when you can actually escape to this beautiful paradise?

  11. Beautiful shot you got there. I am not particularly fond of climbing mountains, though I've climbed several already. But you are right, the bliss one's get from reaching the top, is a feeling like no other.

  12. I grew up in the province and has a taste of climbing a bundok but not even reaching the summit. Well, di naman kasi yun ang purpose namin whey we did climb. We climbed because we wanted to see the "mangyan tribe" residing sa paanan ng bundok, though not the peak yet, Pero, I never had the chance to plan out to climb one on an intentional basis. I hope one day I still can hehe.
