Overwhelmed.

I just realized the many hats I wore and I am happy to wear.

I am being asked to write a bionote for publicity for a PH-based conference and I don't know how to do it. I decided to cut some part of it but thought of saving the whole in here:

Full Name: Kat

Email Add: *******@**.***.ph

Meow is currently completing her MLLE degree in UPOU after graduating DLLE in Oct 2019, passing the Comprehensive Exam in Jan 2020. She earned her Baccalaureate degree, BSEd major in Physics in Bicol University College of Education. She jumpstarted her teaching career with Teach for the Philippines as part of the pioneer batch of Teacher Fellows, teaching 3rd graders in Commonwealth Elementary School for 2 years (2013-2015). Before all that, she was a corporate slave for the BPO sector for seven years.
Through her graduate studies, she had gained knowledge about Linguistic Imperialism. She had been invited on two international conferences for teachers through Teach for All to talk about Second Language teaching and Social Change and Cultures of Second Language Teaching, which both had gained strong impact about second language teaching in developing nations.

At present, she is based in Japan as an English Instructor for a private institution specialized in teaching English as a Foreign Language to young learners. Though living offshore, she is also an active Member of the Board of Trustees of Espoir School of Life, an NGO and private school in Del Carmen, Siargao Island.

Her current onshore side project involves developing bilingual tutorial videos on programming for kids in her locality in Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan. On her days off from her job, she volunteers at a local international foundation who promotes intercultural relations and language exchange programs. In the past, she had been commissioned to develop Science teaching materials for young learners on different topics targeting clientele from US and Cambodian elementary schools. She also prides herself being the English recorded voice-over in a local museum for a 3D virtual reality view of the mountains of the Kirishima Kinkowan National Park, a famous nature park in the southern part of Japan.

She had also produced a podcast, Recess Time! where she interviews teacher friends about different topics in education in the Philippines.

On her free time, you can either find her at her yoga club, learning how to surf, practicing her target skills in archery or out for a drive somewhere she has never been to. For slow down, she chooses a quiet time with a good book or just really bored with life.

While she is nursing writer’s block at present, her academic goal is to graduate with a good thesis paper for publication in her MLLE degree. She also dreams of acquiring her licenses in scuba diving and paragliding as soon as possible.
